CentrePointe - A Webb Companies Development

Economic Impact

CentrePointe will bring a boost to the local economy, generating approximately 1,000 construction jobs annually for a two-year period, plus 900 permanent jobs after completion. Many of the materials will be purchased from suppliers in the region.

New residents and visitors bring more downtown activity, better entertainment choices, a renewed urban energy, and additional revenue for the State and Fayette County.

A Central Location

The complex will be built on the block bounded by Vine, Lime, Main and Upper streets, adding a significant new element to Lexington's skyline, yet remaining interactive at the street level.

A 300-space connecting parking garage is proposed for beneath Phoenix Park. It is also proposed that Phoenix Park would then be redeveloped to bring it up to ground level and provide an urban gathering spot, featuring fountains, public art and inviting spaces. Others have now proposed that a Jumbotron be installed on a building adjoining the Park on which the events of the 2010 Equestrian Games and Friday night movies might be shown.

Environmentally Friendly

CentrePointe was planned with the environment in mind. That's why the CentrePointe development will be LEED-certified. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Designs. It's a way of rating buildings to ensure they are environmentally friendly and meet standards pertaining to water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, materials and innovative design.

Materials like brick, wood flooring and timber supports will be recycled from the buildings being razed instead of going to the landfill. New construction will use as much recycled material as possible.
